UV Absorbers

3V’s UV Absorbers are light stabilizers that absorb harmful UV radiation and dissipate as heat before harmful photo-oxidation can take place. The right package will protect your paint, coating, adhesive, etc… from discoloration, cracking, chalking, yellowing and general loss of mechanical properties.

3V manufactures a wide variety of UV absorbers, including Benzophenones, Benzotriazoles and Bisphylenes. Combine these UV absorbers with 3V’s Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers (HALS) to provide beneficial synergistic effects. The combined systems considerably increases the life span of coatings in more stringent and adverse service conditions. Talk to your 3V representative for specific recommendations.

Benzophenone

Benzophenones absorb over the wavelength range from 260 to 350 nm. and provide and effective first line of defense to harmful UV radiation.

Benzotriazole

Benzotriazole offer high and broad absorption ranges from 270 to 400 nm and are compatible with a broad range of polymer systems and additives. They are effective in preventing Gloss reduction, Cracking, Blistering, Color change.

Bisphenylene

Bisphenylene derivatives offer a very broad absorption spectrum and provide especially high temperature stability.
